The New Site

I have had a web site for several years now but have not changed it or updated it much over the years.  The old site was created using Dreamweaver and a little HTML.  There was a very steep learning cure for this effort and it was a real pain to make any changes or additions to the site.

My daughter Candice Stringham who is a wonderful photographer and photography teacher has hinted on several occasions lately that my old site was looking very dated and I needed to do something about it.  I dreaded the idea because I knew how hard it would be using my old methods (using Dreamweaver.)  As I started to look around at other photographers web pages I noticed that most of them kind of fell into the photoblog format and they mostly seemed to be using services like WordPress and Blogspot.  Then just the other day I got a notice from BYU’s Office of Information Technology that they were offering a free WordPress training class, so I signed up.  The class was a very simple introduction but got me motivated and showed me some of the possibilities that exist so I decided to make the jump.

This site is the result.  It certainly wasn’t as simple as I thought it would be and I still have a long ways to go to get things the way I would like them, but here we go.  What do think?  Leave a reply.
